As I headed to Salisbury, England to see Stonehenge on my
2nd day in England I was giddy with excitement. As I've said before, Stonehenge
has been on my Bucket List for as long as I can remember. The cab crested the
hill as the cabby pointed to Stonehenge. It was awesome. My entire body began
to tingle.

One of the main reasons I wanted to see Stonehenge was to
feel a vibe. I know it sounds hinky, but I do believe that there are spiritual
places and they don't necessarily have to be a church or place of worship. I
practically jumped out of the cab when he parked. I crossed through the tunnel,
coming up on the other side, my heart thumping hard in my chest. I advanced,
expecting to feel the "energy" at any time.
Nothing.
I walked around the entire area, stopping to take a few
pictures. It was cold and rainy, but Stonehenge was still busy. I got as close
as I could and stopped. I stared at the center of the structure, willing it to
give me a paranormal sign. It didn't.
I walked back to the cab and had the cabbie take me to
Salisbury Cathedral, a must see on my friend, Rubina, list. I paid the man an
outrageous fare (thanks again for telling me there was a bus to Stonehenge when
there wasn't, bus ticket teller) and got out of the cab.
Now, I have to admit I see the big monstrosities some Americans
call churches and I scoff at what the price tag might be. I think of all the
money that went into those mega churches and wonder if it shouldn't go to those
who need help. All that being said, I was blow away by the beauty of Salisbury
Cathedral. Those old churches are simply magnificent. (My pictures do not do it justice)

As blown away as I
was from the outside of the cathedral, nothing could prepare me for the way I
felt stepping inside the majestic building. It was stunning. I walked around
the sanctuary, reading the wall plates, awing at the old clock and bell chiming
system that still worked and was still in use, and snapping pictures of all the
stain glass windows. After taking a short tour, I sat down just to take in its
splendor.

That's when I felt the magic, I thought I'd feel at
Stonehenge. Tears filled my eyes as I sat there, the Holy Spirit filling the
air around me. I've felt that way once before, the day I gave my life to
Christ. I'm not sure how long I sat there, even though I knew I needed to catch
a train. I didn't want to leave, I wanted to live in that moment for as long as
possible.
Reluctantly, I got up and lit three candles, one for the
health and well being of my family, one as a thank you for my very blessed life,
and one more as a thank you for reminding me where to find the true
"magic".
